What are Crop Marks?

In printing, Crop Marks are thin lines placed at the corners of an image, page or artwork layout to indicate where the paper should be trimmed after printing. Because Crop Marks designate trim lines, they are sometimes referred to

as Trim Marks.

What is DOCUMENT bleed?

Bleeds allow you to run artwork to the edge of a page. On a press, the artwork is printed on a large sheet of paper and then trimmed down to size. If you do not allow for a bleed, any misalignment while cutting will result with the artwork not running to the edge of the paper. Bleeds ensure you get the results you need.

RGB vs CMYK?

It is very important that all files that are designed to be printed use the CMYK colour space. If a file is designed in the RGB colour space, the colours may not print as expected. Designing a file in CMYK ensures that the colours will match your monitor (provided your monitor is calibrated for colour accuracy).

RGB - Subtractive colours

CMYK - Additive colours
